Tool to Manage Student Technology
Richland School District has a new way for families to monitor their children's use of district-provided devices.
The district's IT department teamed up withGoGuardian, RSD's Chromebook web filter provider, to provide a companion application for parents called GoGuardian Parent that families may choose to use.
GoGuardian Parent provides parents the following frequently requested features for district-provided devices:
- remote viewing of Internet browser history with verified parents/guardians
- pausing of student Internet access during non-school hours
- blocking of specific websites not already filtered by the district
- scheduling of Internet availability during non-school hours
Parents must complete online opt-in request form to learn how to install GoGuardian Parent and link it to a child's device.
